The Senior PGA Championship would like to wish Champions Tour veteran Peter Jacobsen a speedy recovery from rotator cuff surgery.
Below is Jacobsen’s statement regarding the status of his injury, which forced him to withdraw from last week’s Wendy’s Champions Skins Game:
“During my preparation for the 2009 season, I damaged the rotator cuff in my left shoulder. I decided that it was best to fix the problem now, and underwent surgery on Friday, January 16 with Dr. Michael Havig of Naples, Florida. The surgery went extremely well, and Dr. Havig and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I am currently undergoing a rehabilitation program that will help strengthen my shoulder and get me back out on Tour this spring.”
Jacobsen finished in third place at the 1983 and 1986 PGA Championships.
